Shameless Self Promotion- VOTE FOR ME!!!!

Anybody who reads this blog knows that I love photography! Well, I have the chance to be published (and win $$$) if enough people vote for me. I would be so thrilled to see one of my photos in print, and we could definitely use the extra cash.

I have a photograph in the travel photography contest: www.jpgmag.com/photos/221286
And an article in the 10 tips section.www.jpgmag.com/stories/1290

Please click on both those links and vote for me. You have to register but it just takes a minute and they never spam you...I've been registered with them for ages.

Also, if I win both contests, I will donate $50.00 of my prize money (total prize money for having won both would be $200) towards a worthy non-for profit organization here in Chile.

So if you want to help both Kyle and charity in Chile, please vote for me. I will be eternally grateful! Please feel free to link or post this anywhere you'd like...the more votes the better my chances of winning are!

THANK YOU!

Voted...down. Nah, just kidding. You got the thumbs up on both. Although JPG's "should this article be included?" is a little disingenuous because it already IS included, duh ;-) I prefer your decidedly upfront approach: "help me win money"...wait, how much?

Good article, btw, although you might want to contextualize #7 by re-stating that this only happens in Santiago or wherever it happened, that you declared your rights and the cop backed down. I'm always pretty cautious around Chilean cops when I'm taking pics or video, because one lying scoundrel told me I couldn't take pictures when some dude got shot in front of my place in barrio brasil.

And I was informed that it's normal practice for cops to grab cameras from people in less than flattering moments, although it didn't happen here.

I just don't know what to believe. How much money is JPG handing out?

I read that in your blog about somebody getting shot in your neighborhood...my husband and I were thinking about getting an apartment there but decided it was too dangerous. Reading your story convinced me I was right!

I thought it was funny that the pacos tried to tell you that you couldn't take photos, they've done that to me too! Nobody has ever tried to take my camera though...and I would be pissed as hell and probably attack a paco and get thrown in jail if that ever did happen!

I voted.

I wasn't sure I had the right image at first because of the by name, so I double checked just in case.

I hope you win!

I think that I will link you on a blog post over in my neck of the woods so that my reader(s) can vote. (gee...I hope my mom votes)
